Deadly Airstrikes Hit Gaza City Homes, Killing Nine Civilians

(MENAFN) At least nine Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured, including women and children, after a series of coordinated Israeli airstrikes struck residential apartments across Gaza City early Thursday, according to medical sources.

The attacks reportedly targeted four separate residential buildings in different parts of the city, causing widespread destruction and casualties. The strikes occurred amid ongoing tensions despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in place in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 10, 2025.

Medical personnel at Al-Shifa Hospital received the bodies of nine victims along with multiple wounded individuals, according to healthcare sources cited by reporters at the scene.

Officials said the condition of some of the victims reflected the intensity of the strikes, with reports indicating that several bodies arrived severely burned while others were dismembered.

According to Palestinian figures, the conflict that began in October 2023 has resulted in nearly 73,000 deaths and more than 173,000 injuries, with women and children making up a large proportion of the casualties.

Health authorities in Gaza also report that since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025, Israeli military operations have continued intermittently, resulting in hundreds of additional deaths and injuries despite the truce.
