Investigation Reveals Thousands “Evaporated” in Gaza

(MENAFN) An Al Jazeera in-depth probe has recorded the disappearance of no fewer than 2,842 Palestinians in Gaza since the onset of Israel’s genocidal assault on the territory, linking the occurrences to the deployment of high-heat weaponry capable of vaporizing human tissue.

The inquiry, The Rest of the Story, broadcast on Monday, referenced figures gathered by Gaza’s Civil Defense units from the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023. The report states that the tally of 2,842 Palestinians described as having “evaporated” stems from on-the-ground documentation rather than projections.

Civil Defense representative Mahmoud Basal informed Al Jazeera that emergency crews implement a “method of elimination” at locations struck, measuring the reported number of individuals inside a targeted structure against the remains retrieved afterward.

“If a family tells us there were five people inside, and we only recover three intact bodies, we only classify the remaining two as ‘evaporated’ after an exhaustive search yields nothing but biological traces,” Basal said, citing blood spray or small fragments such as scalps.

He underscored that this designation is applied solely after thorough examinations of debris, medical facilities, and morgues fail to uncover any identifiable remains.
