IDF murders One Palestinian Man, Injures Another in Gaza

(MENAFN) A Palestinian man was killed and another wounded by Israeli forces on Tuesday in southern Gaza, medical sources reported.

The fatality occurred after a young man sustained a gunshot wound to the head from Israeli army fire south of the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis. Another young man suffered moderate injuries from gunfire east of Khan Younis.

Israeli forces have committed hundreds of ceasefire violations since the agreement took effect, including shelling and gunfire that have killed and injured numerous Palestinian civilians. These incidents have persisted despite the US administration’s announcement in January that the second phase of the ceasefire had begun. This phase includes further Israeli withdrawals from Gaza and the initiation of reconstruction efforts, which the UN estimates will cost around $70 billion.

The ceasefire originally ended an Israeli offensive that began on October 8, 2023, which lasted nearly two years, resulting in over 71,000 Palestinian deaths, more than 171,000 injuries, and the destruction of approximately 90% of Gaza’s infrastructure.
