20-Year-Old Palestinian Man Shot Dead by Israeli Army in West Bank
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, a 20-year-old man was shot dead by Israeli forces in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin.
Witnesses told media that he was killed during clashes between the army and local residents following a raid on the town. "Several homes were stormed and searched by the Israeli soldiers," they added.
The army carried out additional raids on multiple towns in Jenin, Tulkarem, Ramallah, and Bethlehem on Wednesday, a local broadcaster reported.
Operations intensified in the Tubas governorate in northern West Bank starting Wednesday morning. Reports from the Palestinian Prisoners Society and the Red Cross indicated that at least 60 Palestinians were detained, 10 injured, and dozens of families forcibly displaced by Israeli forces.
The latest death raises the total number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank to 1,083 since the beginning of what critics call Tel Aviv’s genocidal war in October 2023. In the same period, nearly 11,000 Palestinians have been injured and over 20,500 arrested in the occupied territory.
In a landmark ruling last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian lands illegal and called for the removal of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
